Cecily Parks 

Cecily Parks is the author of three poetry collections, including The Seeds, which is forthcoming from Alice James Books. Her poems appear in The New YorkerThe New Republic, The Best American Poetry 2022, and elsewhere. She’s written about Emily Dickinson in reviews and essays that appear in The Emily Dickinson JournalBoston Review21|19: Contemporary Poets in the Nineteenth Century Archive, and elsewhere. She teaches in the MFA Program at Texas State University and lives in Austin.

Christine Gerhardt

Christine Gerhardtis Professor of American Studies at the University of Bamberg, Germany. She is the author of A Place for Humility: Whitman, Dickinson, and the Natural World (2014), winner of a CHOICE Outstanding Book Award. She is also the author of a monograph on the Reconstruction period in American novels (Rituale des Scheiterns: Die Reconstruction-Periode im US-amerikanischen Roman, 2003), editor of the Handbook of the American Novel of the Nineteenth Century (2018), and co-editor of Environmental Imaginaries on the Move (2016) and Religion in the United States (2011). Her work has appeared in Profession, ESQ, the Emily Dickinson Journal, Mississippi Quarterly, Poroi, and Forum for Modern Language Studies.

Colleen Glenney Boggs 

Prof. Dr. Colleen Glenney Boggs is the Parents Distinguished Research Professor in the Humanities at Dartmouth (USA). A scholar of nineteenth-century American literature, she has particular expertise in the literatures of the American Civil War, animal studies, and literary theory. Her work on Emily Dickinson has appeared in her monographs Patriotism By Proxy: The Civil War Draft and the Cultural Formation of Citizen-Soldiers, 1863-1865 (Oxford UP, 2020), Animalia Americana: Animal Representations and Biopolitical Subjectivity (Columbia UP, 2013), and in other venues.

 Renee Bergland

Renée Bergland teaches literature and writing at Simmons University. She is the author of Natural Magic: Emily Dickinson, Charles Darwin, and the Dawn of Modern Science (April 2024). Her earlier books are Maria Mitchell and the Sexing of Science: An Astronomer Among the American Romantics and The National Uncanny: Indian Ghosts and American Subjects. With Gary Williams, she edited Philosophies of Sex: Critical Essays on The Hermaphrodite.
